I hope I have intrigued you with the potential of electronic health record workflow management system technology and shown you some impressive numbers, however, in all candor, electronic health record workflow management systems are highly dependent social factors. In this they are similar to other kinds of info technologies that are intended to have large positive impacts on the workplace. These have the largest impact when work teams already striving to share information, to distribute decision making, and to improve processes. When work teams are already trying to do these things, and then you give them the tools of the electronic health record workflow management system, that’s when you are going to see the biggest positive impact.
